Peer Review Process
Jurnal Mumtaz employs a double-blind peer review process, ensuring mutual anonymity between authors and reviewers throughout the evaluation period until manuscripts receive approval for editing and publication.
Manuscripts undergo assessment based on these criteria:
- The originality of its contribution to the field of scholarly publishing.
- the soundness of its theory and methodology gave the topic.
- The coherence of its analysis.
- Its ability to communicate to readers (grammar and style).
The typical evaluation period ranges from four to six months following submission. The Editorial Board maintains complete authority in determining publication decisions based on peer review feedback. Submissions may be written in Bahasa Indonesia, English, or Arabic.
Screening for Plagiarism Policy
Any manuscript determined to contain content copied from another author's work will be classified as plagiarized material. Plagiarism detection occurs at two stages: initially during the preliminary review phase before manuscripts reach peer reviewers, and subsequently during the editorial stage. Should plagiarism be discovered after an article has already been published, the editorial team will promptly withdraw the article from the published collection and issue a notice regarding the breach of publication ethics standards.
Manuscripts discovered to have been previously published in another venue or currently undergoing evaluation elsewhere will be deemed as violating duplicate submission policies. When authors incorporate material from their own earlier publications or manuscripts currently under consideration as foundation for a new submission, they must provide appropriate citations to the prior work. This practice prevents self-plagiarism (also known as auto-plagiarism) after both articles have been published.
To maintain academic integrity and originality, Jurnal Mumtaz employs multiple plagiarism detection tools, such as Turnitin, Google's search platform, plagiarismchecker, duplichecker.com, Copyleaks.com, and AI check. Plagiarism screening is performed during the initial manuscript evaluation phase. Manuscripts that pass the originality check are then forwarded to designated editors for subsequent peer review. Articles containing minimal plagiarism concerns will receive notification requiring revision before resubmission, whereas manuscripts exhibiting substantial plagiarism violations will face immediate rejection and be placed in the archives.
